Honey is rich in trace minerals, especially iron and zinc. It also contains several constituents resembling hormones like acetylcholine which promotes the uptake of glucose into the muscle and regulates blood pressure and heart rhythm.
Honey is used for:
Insomnia – prepare calming tea and add a teaspoon of honey (linden, lemon balm or orange honey). Drink one or two cups half an hour before bedtime.
Sour throat, cough – slowly sip a warm milk with a teaspoon of honey mixed in. Honey added to a lemon juice is also excellent for soothing sore throats.
Detoxifying the body – dissolve 2 or 3 teaspoon of honey in 2 or 3 cups of stinging nettle tea. Drink it daily for about six weeks.
Digestive problems – before meal or in between, take a teaspoon of honey ( acacia, lemon balm or peppermint honey) either plain of dissolved in a tea to relieve indigestion.
Some people experience an allergic reaction to honey, on the other hand honey can relive allergies caused by pollen. For: Asthma – take 6 teaspoon of honey daily for 4 weeks.
Honey can help for treating wounds and injuries as it draws out blood and lymphatic fluid and promotes healing as it acts like a broad-band antibiotic. For minor cuts: apply thick layer of cabbage flower, lavender or peppermint honey and cover with a bandage or gauze.
For infected skin: eat one teaspoon of peppermint, acacia, or cabbage honey. In addition, with a swab apply honey on the individual pimples several times a day.
Do not take large amount of honey (2-6 teaspoon) all at once!
